Atlanta's Album 88 favs The Yum Yum Tree reformed in 2019, after a 10-year hiatus, to bring you "stuck-in-your-head" catchy indie rock.
TYYT were college radio darlings from 1999-2008 and wrote the theme song for Georgia Music Show. Their work landed them on Creative Loafing's Year End Honor Roll and The AJC's Best Album Releases in 2002. These old friends bring together a mixture of old favorites as well as new material.
Andy Gish (bass/lead singer) co-founded Kimono My House in March of 2020 as a way to stay connected to her community after having to cancel several shows due to Covid. Matt Harr (drums) and John McNicholas (guitar/vocals) round out The Yum Yum Tree.
In July 2025, they were invited to record at Peter Gabriel's Real World Studios in Box, England, where they created a bunch of new songs. Andy calls the experience a "watershed week where our only job was to be artists. Among the beauty and the hush of Real World, I remembered why I started writing music in the first place."
The Yum Yum Tree has two full-length albums and two EPs. Their third full-length album "Turn Down the Noise" will be released on April 10th, 2026. They recently released a music video for "Ghosts," recorded during their time at Real World Studios. Expect several more music videos for the new album, along with additional EPs of new material.
Beyond The Yum Yum Tree, the members have stayed musically active—Matt and Andy released an EP as Love Me Till My Heart Stops in 2014, Andy is part of a side project called Blackfox, and John McNicholas has awesomely catchy solo work with The Sunset District, including a forthcoming album.
"We've been making music together in one form or another since 1999! We love doing it. We hope you like it too!"
The best way to support indie musicians is through buying their music! Bandcamp is one of the most artist friendly site for that but you can also find us on all other platforms (iTunes, Spotify, etc).
